My medical Centre uses Server with Small Business Server 2003 with 23 workstations using Windows XP. We were delighted to be a Beta tester for the Alert Button. We had been considering an alarm system for several years and had approached our existing Software providers who recognized the need but did not take up the challenge of including as part of our software.
Adding an alternative hard wired system seemed dauntingly expensive.
The Alert button software installed easily with supplied instructions.
I have noticed no impaired performance and Alert runs in the Background with a visible icon in the Screen tray and the lit button discreetly hidden some-where in cable length.
I have had only had an an issue on my own computer is lack of available USB slots as the existing 6 get used up with mice, keyboard, scanner, printers x2 , and a spare needed.
Buttons remain working after 12 months. The aspect that the alarm is silent in the room where it is triggered but flashes on all active workstations in the building is a reassuring feature that would not provoke any reaction from the agressor until help arrives at the door.
I would expect the Alert Button to of use in many office enviroments dealing with the public.

The Alert Buttons have provided our practice with a quick and easy way to gain immediate assistance in emergency situations. We would thoroughly recommend them.

Due to security concern Brindabella Family Practice decided to install USB alarms to all consultation rooms, the three computers at reception and one for the office. They are easy to use as they can be activated by manually pressing the alarm button.
Brindabella Family Practice is open extended hour so having an internal security system is useful for all staff. Having it linked to all work stations has also proven to be beneficial because it alerts everyone at the same time.
I would highly recommend USB alarms to all practices.
